WHATS NEW WITH JIPMER MBBS 2016?

More Seats for MBBS aspirants seem to be in the offering with JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research) setting up its offsite campus at Karaikal.

JIPMER Director, Dr Subhash Chandra Parija said at a convention in Delhi that all efforts were being taken to get the campus at Karaikal functional for the academic year of 2016-17. A Detailed Project Report is to be prepared for the campus to provide it with required amenities.

The Karaikal JIPMER campus would admit 100 MBBS students for the academic year of 2016-17. The admission to these seats would be through the entrance exam conducted by JIPMER.  These seats are in addition to the 150 MBBS seats at the Puducherry campus of Jipmer.

ADMISSION TO JIPMER:

Candidates applying to the courses offered by JIPMER are selected based on an All India entrance examination. Entrance examinations are held once a year for the undergraduate programme.

EXAM PATTERN FOR JIPMER:

  • JIPMER MBBS is a computer based test.
  • It is a multiple choice question exam with four options.
  • Total mark is 200 for JIPMER entrance test.
  • Each question is assigned 1 mark
  • There is NO NEGATIVE MARKING.

Students who get through the entrance test are eligible to study in the college. After clearing the test, the aspirants will go through a final round interview. This is then finally followed by a counseling process.
